Learning to Cope

A couple months ago my cat Kloe broke her leg.  Recently we took her into the vet for her last check up.  The vet said she was surprised that Kloe was doing so well, and healing nicely.  I'm often surprised at the resiliency of my creatures.

She still walks with a limp, and someone pointed out that she wouldn't limp if she wasn't in pain.  That makes me sad because I know that she is hurting.  Although it's been a long and painful recovery, she has found many ways to cope with her gimpy leg.  She has learned to take comfort in me and Jordan and is a lot more cuddly.  However, I think my favorite thing she does to get the weight off her leg is lay on her back.

She has learned to use Kea for support (love me some double entendre), and I'm sure it's doing wonders for her posture.

And in a good show of solidarity, Kea joins her sister in the quest to keep weight off her legs by just hanging them off the table.

So although she's hurting, she has learned that she always has loved ones surrounding her, and that her leg can simply rise above it all, literally, to escape the pain.

Love these critters.

I've never had a cat but I've always wanted to. :(
